About the Club »

Army Parachuting Club was born at the end of August 1999 when an old, soon-to-be-pulled-down building was discovered on Ämari airfield with nice large rooms and of course – a deceased cat. Although with no ceiling nor floor, no doors or strait walls it seemed perfect to become a club house for SLK; especially, when located only 70 meters away from the landing area!

A new  ceiling was made from the floor material of an old movie club house. Partitions were torn down to free some space for the packing area, part of the room was separated as a rigging corner. Sewing machine for the rigger, useful reading materials and a TV-set for weather-grounded skydivers were soon dug out. That’s the way it all started.

And since then people come together and keep the club its name worthy…

…although legally SLK did not exist until 29.02.2000
